The Isle of Man Snaefell Mountain Circuit is famous for its use in the TT Races each year. Outside of that fortnight it still gets regular use for racing at a range of events giving bike fans plenty of other opportunities to visit the Island.
One such event, which takes place during the IOM Festival of Motorcycling, is the Classic TT. This moves the focus from pure speed and lap times to become more of a celebration of the history and heritage of the TT with riders using a wide-range of classic bikes. Make no mistake, however, speed is still a major factor and these races are no less exciting than their TT counterparts run on modern bikes.
The Classic Races take place for 4 days over the August Bank Holiday and fit well into the programme of wider festival events such as the festival of Jurby and the events happening in the classic TT paddock.
For those of you with an interest in motorcycle and racing history this offers a great time to visit the Island with the family outside of the more well-known and very busy TT period.
Further information can be found on the Classic TT website.
