Isle of Man Food & Drink Festival 2017

With major events such as the TT races it makes sense for the Island to have its own beers and lagers and, if you time your visit just right, you may even be able to sample some of the more unusual seasonal beers.

Currently there are 3 breweries you can visit during your holiday, though it may be worth sending the kids out Go Karting or Pony Trekking while you do. Each brewery has its own specialties and lends itself to certain products.

The Isle of Man, like Germany, has its own beer purity laws preventing brewers adding any supplement to malt, hops, sugar, water and brewer’s yeast and, although this was altered in 1999 to allow, among other things, fruit to be added to the brewing process, the Manx community has very strong views about its beer.
