Douglas Guided Pub Walks
The guided pub walks are organised by John Cojeen who has spent the last 40 years of his professional working life around everything to do with beer and beer quality.
The walks are from April to September.
The Classic Pub Walk
The walk starts at The Woodbourne from 6pm for a 6.30pm start then you will walk down to the Prospect, Saddle, British, Albert, Jaks and Sam Webbs. The walk takes around 3 hours including 40 minutes gentle to moderate walking.
The walk is available on Tuesday's only.
The Barbary Coast Pub Walk
The walk starts at the Railway from 3pm for a 3.30pm start then you will walk to the Hooded Ram, Bridge, Saddle, British and Albert. The walk takes around 2.5 hours gently walking.
The walk is available on Saturday afternoon only. Exclusive walk offer 10% off food at the British pub.
During the walks John talks about the pubs and as you walk, talk about points of interest along the way. John will talk about the history of beer, beer dispense, pubs and what to look for when buying a pint with regard to beer quality and glassware.
You will discover the history of some of the most popular pubs in Douglas including the opportunity to see an original stone vaulted cellar dating to the 1750’s!
Price: £20 per person, includes 6 half pints or soft drinks. Everyone will receive a souvenir booklet of the tour.
