The Manx seas can be rough but, if you arrive at the right time of year, they are one of the best ways to view sections of the incredible Isle of Man coastline during your holiday. Kayaking and sea fishing are popular methods, as is coasteering for the more adventurous among you. Sailing, however, is a very popular pastime on the Island and offers a great way to experience the 100 mile coast.
Based in the North of the island in Ramsey Bay, the Manx Sailing and Cruising Club offers a recently modernised clubhouse, as well as facilities for both dinghy and offshore sailors. The club is heavily involved in events such as the annual Round the Island Race and for any fans of sailing it is well worth timing a trip to coincide with the race.
In addition to being heavily involved in the Manx Sailing scene, the club also offers various training courses, such as the RYA Powerboat courses. They offer the Level 1 and safety boat and the Level 2 national Powerboat course where you learn the essentials to drive a powerboat.
